About 25 dedicated church members and friends participated in a special dedication church service for Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) Lacombe on Sunday.

“Trinity Lutheran Church Lacombe was homeless for a period of time after they sold their existing building to the Lacombe Performing Arts,” said Sonja Tweit, church treasurer.

Tweit has worked at the TLC since 1997. She says TLC celebrated their sixth anniversary back in 2019.

The church’s’s congregation mainly consists of seniors and they wanted a building that could accommodate those who are less mobile.

Trinity Lutheran Church took possession of Bay No. 8, 4103 53 Ave. in Lacombe on June 1.

“This location is ideal, as it is all on one level, no stairs, a paved parking lot and no snow or grass maintenance to worry about. It is so nice to have our own furnishings, organ music and a place we can call home again,” said Tweit.

The dedication service was officiated by Rev. Robert Mohns of Calgary, along with their regular pastor, Rev. Al Lewis.

Organist Lori Nowochin provided the music for the occasion.

At this time, Trinity is holding regular church services at 11 a.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month. Fellowship is usually held once a month.
