A flatbed semi with a load of pipe went off the road southbound on Highway 2, a few kilometres north of Highway 53, near Ponoka on Wednesday. The truck appeared to drive straight off the road, into the ditch, through a snow fence and into a field before it flipped onto its side and slid for quite a distance before coming to rest in some trees. It was not known if the driver fell asleep or had a medical incident.
