Council appointed two people to local boards following the resignations of their predecessors.

Resignations on both the Red Deer Regional Airport Authority Board and the Community Housing Advisory Board meant the positions would have to be filled. The airport board had a vacant City of Red Deer Representative and the housing advisory board had an aboriginal representative vacancy.

On Monday, at city council Dave Jones was appointed the Red Deer Regional Airport Authority to fill an unexpired term ending in December 2019 and Phyllis Redcalf was appointed to the community housing advisory board to fill the unexpired term ending in October 2017.
