Red Deer Mounties have arrested two Innisfail men and charged them with assaulting a taxi driver in April.

A 22-year-old and 21-year-old face charges including assault, assault causing bodily harm, fraud and failing to attend court. They will appear in Red Deer provincial court later in September and in October respectively.

The charges stem from an April 10 incident where a taxi driver was assaulted.

Red Deer RCMP said the accused refused to pay the driver once they had reached their destination in Normandeau. The driver attempted to stop the two individuals, but it is alleged that they kicked and punched him.

The driver was taken to hospital and later released.

Red Deer RCMP would like to thank the public’s widespread sharing of the photos of the two suspects, which led to their arrest.
