Two charged with first-degree murder in Wetaskiwin

Two people have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 63-year-old man.

Two people have been charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 63-year-old man.

Wetaskiwin residents Cashtin Lee Joseph, 27, and Stanley Victor Howse, 49, have been remanded into custody and will next appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on Tuesday.

The victim, Brian Michael Dupe, was reported missing on Oct. 20 – he had not been seen since Oct. 14. Human remains were located in a rural area west of Alder Flats on Oct. 22. Following an autopsy on Oct. 24, these remains were confirmed to be Dupe.

As the matter is now before the courts, RCMP is not able to comment further.
