Red Deer City RCMP have laid charges against Martin Munro, 36, originally from Miramichi, N.B., and Jolyn Ten Hove, 37, of Red Deer, in connection with the death of William McDonald, originally of Miramichi.

Munro and Ten Hove have been remanded into custody and are to appear in Red Deer provincial court on Monday.

McDonald was found dead in a home on Forest Close, north of Bower Ponds, after emergency crews were called out at about 2:50 a.m. on Thursday.

Police allege a fight broke out between two males inside the home. The victim and suspects knew each other, according to spokesman Const. Chris Kosack.

The Calgary Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy today. Police say the cause and manner of death have yet to be determined, however no weapons were used in the alleged homicide.

RCMP general investigation section, forensic identification section and the major crimes unit are all involved in the investigation.
