A Lacombe Police Service investigation into a stolen utility trailer uncovered additional stolen property and drugs.

Two men are facing numerous stolen property- and drug-related charges after police traced the stolen trailer and other items to a rural property near Lacombe on May 10. The property was returned to the owner.

“While on the property it was noted that there were other stolen items,” says Lacombe police in a Tuesday news release.

Blackfalds RCMP General Investigative Section officers drafted a search warrant, which RCMP and Lacombe Police officers used to return to the property in the evening.

As a result of the first investigation, Shawn Bullerwell, of Lacombe County, was charged with trafficking in property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of possession of drugs, cocaine and methamphetamine.

After the second investigation, Bullerwell was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and fraudulent concealment.

Bruce Regie, of Red Deer, was charged in the initial investigation with two counts of possession of drugs, cocaine and methamphetamine, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both men have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Red Deer provincial court.
