Red Deer RCMP say two males were arrested after allegedly trying to evade police in a stolen truck that later hit a power pole on Sunday night.

Police said at about 9:56 p.m., officers recognized a white Chevrolet Avalanche previously reported as stolen in the area of 58 Avenue and 60 Street.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, which sped away at a high rate of speed, left the road, and collided with a power pole.

The two males were arrested at the scene, and charges are pending.

Police said the truck was confirmed to be stolen. No injuries were sustained to the occupants.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, or the stolen truck, is asked to contact Red Deer RCMP at 403-406-2200.
