Two people dead after plane flying from Rocky Mountain House crashes

A plane travelling from Rocky Mountain House with a 59-year-old male pilot and a 48-year-old female passenger aboard, has crashed.

At 1:41 p.m. Saturday, Thorsby RCMP were alerted to a Harmon Rocket having crashed onto a field near Township Road 504 and Range Road 21, and then the plane caught fire.

Thorsby RCMP attended and found the two deceased occupants, both from Rocky Mountain House, in the plane.

The Transportation Safety Board will be conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.

The Thorsby RCMP remain on the scene.
