A woman and a four-year-old boy, both of O’Chiese, died in a two-vehicle crash northwest of Rocky Mountain House on Wednesday morning.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP said officers responded to a collision on Highway 756 at about 11:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation indicated a northbound car lost control and collided with an oncoming southbound truck.

The two occupants in the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The two adult males in the truck suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital and later released.

Road conditions at the time were slippery due to freezing rain.

No charges will be laid. The names of the deceased will not be released.
