A 37-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman are both facing more than 20 charges after RCMP officers executed a search warrant at a Sundre residence last week.

This past April, Sundre RCMP began investigating possible drug trafficking after receiving information that illegal drugs were being sold at a residence on 10 Avenue in the town.

This past Friday, officers from the Sundre, Olds and Didsbury RCMP detachments conducted a search warrant at this residence. The Southern Alberta Emergency Response Team assisted with entry into the residence.

A number of items were seized:

  • Quantities of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and gamma-hydroxybutric acid (GHB)
  • Cash
  • Assorted ammunition
  • Several firearms and tasers
  • Soft body armour
  • Assortment of edged weapons and other prohibited weapons
  • Drug paraphernalia and drug producing equipment

Two suspects are facing 22 charges, including trafficking cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl and GHB, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Both have been released and are scheduled to appear in court in Didsbury on Aug. 14.
