Two teens suspected of trying to hide a shotgun and drugs arrested in Wetaskiwin

Two teens are facing charges after RCMP allegedly caught them trying to hide a shotgun and cocaine in a Wetaskiwin home on Tuesday.

The incident began when Maskwacis Community Response Unit was alerted that a 16-year-old facing more than a dozen arrest warrants, including a robbery with a firearm charge, was spotted in Wetaskiwin.

Members of the response unit spotted the wanted youth and a 15-year-old male youth in a residential area. The youths ran inside a home where it is alleged residents saw them attempt to hide a shotgun, ammunition and a small amount of cocaine.

The youths were quickly arrested and the items were seized.

Both youths have been charged with breaking and entering and unauthorized possession of a firearm, among other charges.
