Unmarked police vehicle stolen in Carstairs

Didsbury RCMP are asking the public for information

Didsbury RCMP are investigating after an unmarked police car was stolen.

On Monday, police responded to a call of a break and enter, and theft of motor vehicles, at the Carstairs Ford dealership.

Police say two vehicles were stolen: a 2014 black Ford Mustang, which has since been recovered, and an unmarked police vehicle described as a 2016 silver Ford Explorer with an Alberta licence plate reading BYE 826.

Some items from the vehicle have been recovered by Red Deer RCMP and Edmonton police, but a duty belt, handcuffs, RCMP uniform and portable radio are still missing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Didsbury RCMP at 403-335-3381 or your local police.
