A 21-year-old Benalto man is in stable condition after being stabbed multiple times on Sylvan Lake’s Lakeshore Drive Wednesday.

The victim is being treated at a hospital, Sylvan Lake RCMP said on Thursday.

RCMP received a complaint around 7:10 p.m. The scene was attended by an ambulance and over five police vehicles. A part of the sidewalk on Lakeshore Drive was also blocked for investigation.

Cpl. Troy Savinkoff said early reports reveal there was a dispute among some adults leading to a physical altercation and the stabbing. The suspect fled the scene.

The incident took place at a bench near Chief’s Pub & Eatery.

A 28-year-old has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
