A man was killed in a single vehicle collision west of Ponoka.

A man was killed in a single vehicle collision west of Ponoka.

Ponoka RCMP said they were called to the crash on Saturday, at the intersection of Hwy 53 and Range Road 262.

According to police, the vehicle was traveling south on Range Road 262 when the driver lost control and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.

The vehicle went off the road and rolled multiple times.

Police said the 35-year-old male driver, from Vancouver, was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Road conditions were poor at the time, as they were covered in snow and ice. Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the incident.
