Innisfail RCMP have now identified the victim of a fatal hit and run near Penhold on Tuesday and are asking for the driver of the vehicle that is believed to have killed the 18-year-old to come forward.

Trystan Sorensen of Penhold was killed while he was longboarding on the side of Hwy 592 about four km west of Penhold at about 10:30 p.m. Police said he was longboarding with a friend when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle.

Police describe the suspect vehicle as a blue Chrysler or Dodge SUV driven by a Caucasian female.

According to the Innisfail RCMP, their preliminary investigation indicates the collision was not intentional.

The investigation is ongoing.
