A group advocating for Alberta to become a sovereign jurisdiction in Canada are inviting central Albertans to a “virtual town hall.”

Red Deer South’s UCP MLA Jason Stephan and Rob Anderson, the executive-director of the Free Alberta Streategy have sent out emails inviting area resdients to hear more about their plan.

“In September, we launched the Free Alberta Strategy, an initiative advocating for Alberta to declare itself a sovereign jurisdiction within Canada, protect ourselves from Ottawa’s relentless attacks, and end the federal equalization transfer scheme robbing Albertans of billions in critical resources annually,” the email states.

Stephan and Anderson want to discuss this new Strategy “directly with regular, hard-working Albertans… who deserve so much better from their country.”

Anyone interested in attending the 90-minute session about the Free Alberta Strategy at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, can register online at freealbertastrategy.com/virtual_town_hall
