Wanted man from Winnipeg arrested in Red Deer

A teen wanted for murder in Winnipeg was located in Red Deer on June 17.

The Winnipeg Police Service homicide unit utilized the assistance of the Calgary Police Service and the Red Deer RCMP in locating the 17-year-old male.

He has been charged with first-degree murder and has been detained in custody, Winnipeg police say.

The teenager cannot be named by media outlets under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Previously, the police released a Canada-wide warrant for the youth.
