Warrant issued in attempted bank robberies

Red Deer City RCMP have issued a warrant for Stephen Taylor, 44, of no fixed address, in relation to two robberies April 9.

Red Deer City RCMP have issued a warrant for Stephen Taylor, 44, of no fixed address, in relation to two robberies on April 9.

Taylor is wanted on two counts of robbery and one count of being unlawfully at large.

An attempted robbery took place at the Royal Bank of Canada, at 6791 50th Ave., on April 9 at 1:29 p.m.

Then at 1:50 p.m., RCMP responded to a robbery at the Alberta Treasury Branch at 4999 Molly Banister Dr. An unknown man entered the bank, approached a teller and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerk complied with the demands and the male left, heading west towards Gaetz Avenue.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, about 1.75 metres tall (around five foot nine), and weighing about 80 kg (180 pounds), with short dark hair.
