Unseasonably warm weather has melted plans for weekend events at Canyon Ski Resort.
The ski hill east of Red Deer announced on Friday that it is now closed for the season.
The ski area usually ends its season with a weekend of events called the Slush Cup.
However, warm weather created washouts that can’t be repaired without a big dump of natural snow that is not in the forecast.
Daytime temperatures are expected to hover around 0C all weekend.
