RCMP are ruling out alcohol as a factor in the accident that happened on Sunday evening at the junction of Highways 16 and 830 east of the city.

Police say the SUV driver was on Highway 830 and had stopped at the junction, but collided with the bike after proceeding into the intersection.

The male motorcyclist died at the scene, while his female passenger and the SUV driver suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital, where the passenger died.

On Saturday evening, a 30-year-old woman died when she lost control of her motorcycle at a major interchange.

Two men were killed in accidents near Strathmore, east of Calgary, and near Lethbridge.
