Police investigating: Westaskiwin man killed in collision last Friday

Wetaskiwin RCMP are investigating the cause of a collision that claimed the life of a 41-year-old man.

Police said that about 9 a.m. last Friday they got a 911 call of a collision on Highway 2A near Township Road 472 near Wetaskiwin.

A car was travelling northbound in an erratic manner and went into the lane of oncoming traffic and collided with a gravel truck heading south on Highway 2A, police said.

Emergency medical services and fire services also attended the scene. The 41-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the car, from Wetaskiwin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and lone occupant of the gravel truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
