Hockey fans in Central Alberta are invited to gather at Westerner Park May 25.
Thursday, the organization announced it would host a watch party for Game 3 of the NHL Stanley Cup playoff Western Conference final.
The Edmonton Oilers are taking on the Dallas Stars Sunday in Edmonton, but Central Albertans can catch the game live on the jumbotron at the Westerner Park Centrium for free. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with puck drop at 1 p.m.
Westerner Park is asking those who attend to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the local food bank.
The Oilers dropped Game 1 of the series in Dallas 6-3.
Edmonton led 3-1 after 40 minutes, but the Stars scored five unanswered goals in the third period to win the game.
Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard all scored for the Oilers.
Miro Heiskanen scored on the power play 32 seconds into the third, Mikael Granlund tied the game at three 3:17 later on another man advantage, and Matt Duchene added his first of the playoffs less than two minutes later to give Dallas a 4-3 lead. Tyler Seguin gave Dallas a 5-3 lead, with 3:58 left and Esa Lindell added an empty net goal.
Jake Oettinger made 24 saves in the victory, while Stuart Skinner allowed five goals on 27 shots.
