Strong wins that may cause damage are expected tonight for Red Deer and central Alberta, according to Environment Canada.
Wind gusts of 75-90 km/h will develop overnight in areas sound of Edmonton, says a wind warning issued Wednesday morning.
The strong winds will move southeastward across the province through the night and then diminish Thursday morning.
Rain showers will accompany these winds, Environment Canada noted.
“Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur,” the wind warning states.
“Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions due to high winds.”
