WINNIPEG — Police in Winnipeg have obtained an arrest warrant in advance of a planned rally against COVID-19 restrictions.

The city force says a warrant has been issued for Chris Saccoccia, an Ontario man who has been travelling across Canada to speak at protests against pandemic public health orders.

Police say another person has been arrested for repeated violations of public health orders, and five other related arrest warrants are outstanding.

Saccoccia, who also uses the name Chris Sky, was promoted as a speaker at a rally planned for tonight in downtown Winnipeg.
