The race is still on.

The North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships, usually a staple attraction of Westerner Days will go ahead from July 23 to 25, even without Westerner Days taking place.

According to a release, there will be 38 chuckwagons competing over three days for the North American Pony Chuckwagon Championship and there will also be 24 chariot racing prior to the wagons.

The Agri-Trade Stars of Tomorrow (sons and daughters of competitors) will showcase their skills with their mini chuckwagons and chariots just prior to the chuckwagons.

There will be live music, local food trucks and an outdoor beer garden, as well as fireworks to wrap up the weekend event.

Tickets are $10 per person and kids 10 and under are free. Only a limited number of tickets will be available and go on sale on July 5 at 10:00 a.m.
