EDMONTON — A woman has identified a man who Edmonton police fatally shot.

Diane Delorme says the 34-year-old man was her boyfriend, Buck E. Evans.

Police have said officers shot a suspect on Wednesday after he refused to get out of a vehicle.

They say man inside the vehicle had outstanding warrants and was believed to be armed and dangerous.

His name has not been officially released.

Alberta’s police watchdog is investigating.

“Buck was a very good friend,” Delorme said Thursday. “(He) had a witty sense of humour and an intellectual mind. He so wanted to change his life around.”
