A woman is custody after police found the remains of a young girl in a car on a rural road near Sundre.
The RCMP Alberta Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident as a suspicious death after the body of a dead girl was found Tuesday afternoon.
An autopsy was scheduled to take place Wednesday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary. The autopsy hopes to determine the time and cause of death of the girl.
The vehicle has since been removed from the scene by police.
According to a release, an adult woman has been taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.
Police did not identify the victim or the woman in custody. Police have not released the age of the girl.
