Woman in stable condition after being shot in head, Red Deer man charged

A Red Deer man has been charged after a woman was shot in the head last week.

On Tuesday, Rocky Mountain House RCMP announced 35-year-old Blair Travis Saulteaux has been charged after the Sept. 27 shooting on O’Chiese First Nation.

Police were called to a residence around 8:30 p.m. to assist EMS with the woman who was shot. The 35-year-old woman was transported to hospital, where she remains in stable condition.

Saulteaux is facing a number of charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and careless use of a firearm.

He will appear in Red Deer Provincial Court Wednesday.
