Woman killed in collision west of Rocky Mountain House

A 42-year-old woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Clearwater County Friday morning.

RCMP were called to the collision on Highway 11 between Rocky Mountain House and Nordegg at about 6:30 a.m. Police say a pickup truck travelling eastbound collided with a semi-tractor trailer travelling westbound.

The woman killed was the driver and only occupant of the pickup truck. The semi driver was not injured.

Traffic was limited to one lane for several hours, but was fully re-opened later in the day.

A collision analyst was on the scene to conduct an examination. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
