A woman died in a single-vehicle rollover on Hwy 2 south of Innisfail on Thursday night.

Innisfail RCMP say at about 10 p.m. the northbound SUV went out of control and rolled to a stop in a southbound land.

The driver died at the scene and a female occupant was airlifted to Calgary with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Both occupants were wearing seatbelts. Police say alcohol was not a factor.

The names of the victims have not been released.

Southbound traffic on the highway was temporarily rerouted.
