A 69-year-old woman was struck by a pickup truck while lawfully crossing the street in downtown Red Deer this morning.

A 69-year-old woman was struck by a pickup truck while lawfully crossing the street in downtown Red Deer this morning.

Police say the pedestrian was crossing 48th Avenue at the corner of Ross Street when she was struck by a westbound truck that was turning south at 11:25 a.m..

The woman was taken to Red Deer’s hospital by ambulance with undetermined injuries.

The 38-year-old female driver was not injured.

Red Deer City RCMP continue to investigate.
