The Woody’s Marathon will go ahead in 2021, only several months later than its typical date.
In a post on its website, organizers said they decided to postpone the race from the May long weekend to a weekend in September or October.
“Given the current situation in the province we have decided to bump our 2021 race from May long weekend to a weekend in September or October in 2021,” the post reads.
“This brings a few logistical issues, and we aren’t prepared to release an exact date… We wanted to get as much information out to you as soon as we could, and will continue to update you as decisions are made and more is known about the situation in Alberta in the coming months.”
Last year’s race was cancelled on March 21 due to increased concerns about COVID-19.
