Work is expected to begin early next week on a new trail along the escarpment between Riverside Meadows and Highland Green.
The expansion of the Waskasoo Trail System will be done in two phases.
The first phase involves a mulched right-of-way between the upper Highland Green walkway, Howarth Street Close and 60th Street.
The clearing for this trail is scheduled to start early next week, weather permitting, for spring 2020 completion.
Also, a new asphalt trail link is proposed from 60th Street and Riverview Avenue, through the Riverside Meadows Central Park site to the lower Highland Green walkway near 58th Avenue and 61st Street.
This work will proceed based on future capital budget approvals.
