Workforce summit offers hiring and retaining employees strategies

Central Alberta Economic Partnership hosting March 30 summit at Westerner Park

Central Alberta Economic Partnership is hosting a one-day summit providing strategies for employers to use in recruiting, hiring and retaining staff.

The Workforce Strategies Summit is set for March 30 at Westerner Park. The event will include sessions on the new workforce and the use of automation and technology to fill the people gap.

Keynote speakers will include U.S.-based consultant and author Matt Tenney, who will share his leadership development and business success strategies. Tenney’s clients include Wells Fargo, United Airlines and Marriott among others.

Chief Clarence Louie will share his experiences as chief of Osoyoos Indian Band for 36 years. He emphasizes economic development to improve people’s standards of living.

Under his leadership, the band has become a corporation that owns and manages nine businesses and employs hundreds.

Summit attendees can also attend private meetings with international recruitment agencies, lawyers, business consultants and human resources professionals to discuss business strategies.
