Xplore Sport Day allows Red Deerians to type variety of sports and recreation

Red Deer’s annual celebration of sports is May 26.

The City of Red Deer is seeking applications from local sport groups interested in Xplore Sport Day.

The annual sporting event offers Red Deerians of all ages opportunities to try out a variety of sports and recreational activities available in the city.

The open-house-type event at Servus Arena, Rotary Recreation Park and Red Deer Tennis Club will feature information sessions, demonstrations and interactive activities presented by local sports organizations.

Guests are encouraged to check out the displays and participate in demonstrations and learn about new activities for themselves and their family members from 11 to 2 p.m.

Sport groups interested in participating are asked to submit a completed application by May 10 indicating the type of presence required – display booth, demonstration or interactive activity.
