Young Red Deerians are being encouraged to give a toque or mittens to someone in need this weekend.
SPARC Red Deer is hosting Winter Warm Up this weekend – the event is part of its Paint the Town Positive Youth Activity.
The event asks children and youth, along with their families, to purchase a toque or mittens and pick up a package from Escuela Vista Grande School between 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday to accompany the donation. Participants will then leave the items at a City Hall Park tree branch, post or bench Saturday or Sunday to help keep someone in need warm.
Those participating are encouraged to take a photo and tag @SPARCRD on Facebook and Instagram.
