The iconic Zellers franchise will make a long-awaited return to Canada in 2023, but Central Alberta isn’t on the list of initial locations.
Zellers announced Thursday where the 25 locations across Canada would be and while Alberta is getting three, Red Deer isn’t on the list.
The store will land in Hudson’s Bay locations in Edmonton at Kingsway Garden Mall, Sunridge Mall in Calgary and the Medicine Hat Mall in Medicine Hat.
In a press release, Zellers says they will land within Hudson’s Bay locations, between 8,000 and 10,000 square feet, depending on the location. The brick-and-mortar locations will complement the first-ever Zellers.ca ecommerce site, ultimately bringing Zellers to nearly every community in Canada.
“Customers will be greeted with a thoughtful selection of design-led products across home decor, toys, baby, apparel and pets, housed within Zellers’ signature red and white that will guide customers along in their retail journey,” the release states.
“To stay in the loop, beginning (Thursday) shoppers can sign up for updates on Zellers.ca – the future home of Zellers’ fully integrated e-commerce platform.”
In the release, Zeller states that the 25 locations are just the start of the launch.
“One of HBC’s most beloved brands, Zellers holds a special place in Canada’s maple leaf-shaped heart,” they said.
“And now, with a brand spankin’ new zellers.ca website and 25 locations (to start!) within Hudson’s Bay stores across the country, customers can expect a helpful, playful shopping experience packed full of low prices day in, day out.”
