Danny Shyan, left, had bought a variety pack of seeds in the spring at a local store and spread them around his father’s (Ray) yard to cover up some of the open spaces. Most of the sunflowers from those seeds grew to a very normal height of about two metres. The exception was the two flowers that grew on the west side of the house, with both of them growing to nearly 3.5 metres in height.
