A count Saturday at the Medicine Lake Ski Hill near Bentley showed very few at the hill were wearing helmets, despite the recent death of actress Natasha Richardson, who died of head injuries after falling at a Quebec ski hill. She was not wearing a helmet. Here, waiting for the lift is Marc Adrian, 15, and friend Chris Scott 15, both from Sylvan Lake. The two snowboarders said they only wear helmets in the mountains to protect their heads from rocks in the event of a fall.

Many Central Albertans were still busy removing the 15 cm of snow dumped in Saturday’s storm, then drifted by Sunday’s north wind.
