Adam BODNARUS

BODNARUS Adam Edward April 16, 1933-January 3, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Adam Edward Bodnarus of Red Deer, Alberta. Adam was born and raised in Komarno, Manitoba. He met and married his wife Violet (nee: Borowski) in Winnipeg where they settled and had a family. Adam and his family then moved throughout the prairie provinces during his careers as hotelier, college professor and small business operator. For the past eighteen years, Adam and his late wife made Red Deer their home. He was a member of St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, where he was ordained as a lector, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Adam was active in his retirement and enjoyed volunteering. Family meant everything to Adam and he will be greatly missed by his daughters, Claudia (Bud) McDonald, Karen (Gerald) Fehr, Paula (John) Rynsburger, a son, Peter (Amanda) Bodnarus and grandchildren, Erica, Heather, Peter, William, Krista and Sacha. He was the eldest of seven children and will also be greatly missed by his sisters, Mary (Walter) Berch, Rose Bodnarus, Gladys Bodnarus, Eugenia (Dave) Unrau, his brothers, Melvin (Ruth) Bodnarus, Walter (Mary Ann) Bodnarus and numerous nieces and nephews. Adam was predeceased by his loving wife, Violet in 2005. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, 3932-46 Street, Red Deer on Friday, January 11, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Adam's honour may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta and N.W.T. 101, 5208-53 Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 5K2 or to the Central Alberta Cancer Centre, 3942-50A Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 6R2.
