LOOBY, Adam

1980 - 2017

Adam Christopher Looby, formerly of Red Deer and Calgary, passed away in Edmonton on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the age of 36 years. Adam was born in 1980 at the Peel Regional Hospital in Brampton ON to parents Edward (Ted) and Janine Looby. As Adam was the first, he was so excited to have a sister Jennie (Jen); a brother Joel, and a sister Jaala join him in the family. The family moved to Red Deer in 1992. Adam excelled in hockey, weight lifting and in being a leader to always help others. It was his joy to see others succeed. Adam loved his family. His dream was to work with recovering addicts in the gymnasiums and to help them feel good about themselves. He loved people for the person and not only the situation at hand. He loved and didn't judge. Adam would want all people to pray for those who struggle and not to judge. Adam's biggest joy in life was when his son, little Aiden Edward Looby was born. Adam looked up to many and was always grateful for his step dad Jim who he called dad. Adam will be greatly missed by his parents, Jim and Janine Kristinson of Red Deer; sister and friend Jen Looby (Cody Robichaud) and Adam's nieces, Jade and Victoria of Innisfail; brother and friend Joel Looby of Calgary; sister and friend Jaala (Shawn) Rondeau of Red Deer; son Aiden Edward Looby; grandfather Lorne Marshall and his fiancée Islay McKay of Red Deer; grandparents Allen and June Donst of Medicine Hat; aunts Michele (Bill) Hepburn; Chris Marshall (Nils Hartikainen); Lorraine Marshall-Rey (Jean-Luc Rey); Linda Fabi; Dianne Looby-Pouw (Ron Nemis); cousins Tom Mackay, Shawn, Josh, Cody and Robin Hartikainen, Jean-Paul Hawkins, Cole Hepburn, Lauren, Brianne and Brennen Sinclair, as well as numerous other family members, friends and recovery brothers and sisters. Adam was predeceased by his father Edward Arthur Looby; grandfather Roy Alexander Looby; grandmothers Irma Charlotte Looby and Anne Marie Josephine Irene Marshall. Adam, you were and are loved. God go with you our son, brother, daddy, uncle, and friend to many.
