1924-2022  ~  Mrs. Adeline Lemke (nee Keen) of Red Deer passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Victoria Park Retirement Community on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the age of 98 years.
Adeline was of German heritage and immigrated to Canada at the age of five. She attended school in the Craig District,and married Waldemar Lemke in 1946. Together, they farmed in the Diamond Valley District for twenty-nine years before moving to Red Deer.
Adeline enjoyed family gatherings, reading, gardening, listening to classical music, singing in the church choir with Waldemar, teaching Sunday School and expressing her thoughts through written prose.
Adeline will be lovingly remembered by her son, Philip (Cheryl) Lemke of Cochrane, her daughters, Sharon (Ross) Watson of Eckville and Dianne (Allan) Wyntjes of Red Deer, her daughter-in-law, Sharon Lemke of Red Deer, her nine grandchildren, and her eighteen great grandchildren.
She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Elsie Heidebrecht of Edmonton, her sister-in-law, Lillian Keen of Vancouver and her sister-in-law, Leona Phillips of Red Deer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Adeline was predeceased by her husband, Waldemar in 1986 and a son, David of Eckville in 2019.
A Funeral Service will be held at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 18 Selkirk Blvd., Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday October 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Don Hennig Officiating.
