December 24, 1937 - December 13, 2024
In loving memory ~
The family of Alan Samuelson are saddened to share news of his death on Friday December 13, 2024 at the age of 86.
Alan is survived by his children Janine Samuelson (Anthony), David Samuelson (Sandy), Suzanne Spady (Dean) and Gerald Samuelson, 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He is also survived by his brother George Samuelson, his brother-in-law Reverend Lawrence Frizzell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alan was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Jean Samuelson, his parents Stanley Martin Samuelson and Marion Reid Love, as well as his brothers Dawson Samuelson and Donald Love.
Alan's service will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Red Deer, AB on January 23, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.
Alan loved the arts, especially painting and musical theatre and instilled in his children and grandchildren a deep love of the beaches of the west coast. Annual treks to Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island led to an enormous collection of shells and driftwood, which filled the flower beds and had pride of place in all of his homes in Alberta and British Columbia. All who knew Alan are aware he felt he was called to be a Pharmacist, and he had a long career in both community and hospital pharmacy in both Alberta and British Columbia.
Alan was very proud to be a practicing pharmacist for 50 years, retiring at the age of 76.
The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Lalli and the staff at Scenic Acres Cogir Retirement Residence for their care over the last two years.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's name to Doctors Without Borders Canada or your local food bank would be greatly appreciated.
