May 29, 1926 - January 5, 2021
It is with immense sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Albert (Al) McKay announce his passing on January 5, 2021 at the age of 94 years.
Albert was born in Consort, Alberta on May 29, 1926 to Isaac and Adelia McKay.
He spent his younger years farming in the Consort, Joffre and Red Deer areas. In 1951 he married Carol (nee Bodwell). Later, they moved from the farm, and settled in Red Deer, where Albert began his career with Red Deer Seed, and where they continued to raise their family.
Albert later established his construction company, where he was involved in many projects from small construction jobs to building homes, until his retirement. Albert and Carol moved to Calgary in 2017 to be closer to family, and were looking forward to celebrating their seventieth wedding anniversary in June of 2021.
Albert is survived by his loving wife Carol, and by his three children, Judy (Rob Hunter), Sharon (Mike Lemieux), and Larry. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as a large extended family.
There will be a future announcement regarding a celebration of Albert's life at a later date, once current restrictions have been lifted.
