COLSON HORACE ALFRED Mr. Horace Colson of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, March 26th, 2009 at the age of 93 years. Horace leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Don (Olivia) and Rae (Diane); six grandchildren, Christine, Craig, Shelly, Derek, Tracey and Andrew; seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Natasha, Nadine, Gaetan, Kiel, Shelby and Daine; five great- great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Sebastian, Anastasia, Danique, and Andie; two sisters, Violet Wachter and Dorothy (Conrad) Schnell; one brother, Walter (Beth) Colson; as well as many nieces, nephews and Robbie's Family. Horace was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie, in 1979; his companion, Robina Hunter, in 1991; his daughter, Joan Olsen in 2006; his son-in-law, Guy Olsen in 2006; his brother-in-law, Alec Wachter; a nephew, Frank Hillman; and most recently great nephew, Trevor Hillman. Horace was born at Fleet, Alberta on May 3rd, 1915, second child of Frank and Alice Colson. He was employed for many years by Canadian Pacific Railway. Horace resided in Calgary for several years until moving to Medicine Hat to be near his son, Don. The family would like to thank the medical and nursing staff at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, the caring and compassionate staff of Valleyview Care Centre and Dr. B. Durand. The Funeral Service will be held at EVENTIDE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4820 - 45th Street, Red Deer, on Wednesday, April 1st, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date in the family plot at Castor, Alberta.
