It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Fred Primeau of Red Deer. Fred is lovingly remembered by his wife Maxine; daughters and sons-in-law Bonnie & Rick Odland and Jody Primeau & Remy Croteau of Airdrie, AB; grandsons Brent Odland & his wife Emma Ritchie of Calgary, AB and Shawn Odland of Yangzhou, China. He will be missed by his siblings Lucille Picard, Marie Vogel, Art (Judy) Primeau and Richard (Doreen) Primeau; his large extended family and many friends.
Fred was born on the family homestead in Dapp, AB to Leonide and Mary Primeau, the youngest in a family of 14. Fred married the love of his life Maxine Langille of Westlock in October 1962. They settled in Edmonton where they welcomed two daughters before moving to central Alberta. Fred's career took many turns as he successfully tried his hand as a dairy and meat inspector, realtor, small-business owner and retail salesperson. He enjoyed golfing, wine-making, travelling, wintering in California and most of all spending time with his wide circle of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 24 at 2 pm at Eventide Funeral Chapel, 4820 45 Street, Red Deer. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
