GASCON Alfred Joseph Edward Gascon passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, August 23, 2007. Fred was born on July 13, 1935 in Therien, AB and was one of 8 brothers and 8 sisters. Alfred is going to be sadly missed by his loving wife Bernice, daughter Mona (Harold) Milne of Choiceland, SK, son Victor of White Fox, SK and son Joe (Tracey) of Red Deer, AB. He also leaves to cherish his memory 3 grandchildren; Christie (Jim) of Choiceland, SK, Curtis (Kelly) of Springbrook, AB, and Ashleigh of Red Deer, AB; 5 great grandchildren; Sarah, Coralee, Colby, Cyrus and Maddes; Brothers: Lucien, Henry (Adeline), Roland (Jean), Charlie (Sharon), Richard (Doris), Rudy and Sisters: Aline, Lily, Lorette (Jerome), Beth (Fred), Claudette (Stan), Helen and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Alfred was predeceased by his parents Antonio and Irene, brother Omar and sisters Margaret and Theresa and daughter Georgette and baby son. Fred was always surrounded by family and friends and his home was always open to visitors. He had a passion for going to auction sales and bringing home treasured "antiques". The family wishes to express special thanks to Ester Rivales who was wonderful to Fred for the past two years. We would like to thank Dr. Ellis and nurses Laurie and Carol and the rest of the staff in Unit 22 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital who took such good care of Fred during the short time he was with them. A funeral service will be held at The Salvation Army Community Church at 4837-54 St., Red Deer, AB on Monday, August 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Sylvan Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request any memorial contributions in Fred's memory be made to the Salvation Army.
