HEEMERYCK, Alice

1921 - 2017

Mom's life journey began October 25, 1921 in Newbiggin by the Sea, England and was completed December 11, 2017 at Lacombe, Alberta.

Mom immigrated to Canada as a young girl to Bienfait, Saskatchewan and later to Edmonton, where she finished her high school and secretarial course. Alice married the love of her life, Jerome, in 1940 and spent her early married life in Saunders Creek. Dad chose farming and in the spring of 1951, they moved to Alix, where lifelong friendships amidst hard work prevailed throughout their life together.

After retiring from the farm, a move into Alix was followed by a move to Lacombe, where Mom resided until her passing. The times of card parties, Dine and Dances at Nevis School, Ceramics with Sherry, coffee with neighbours, Ripley Club, and fishing and camping are our memories to remember and re-live. Mom also liked her Casino visits but did not like to lose her $20 limit!!

Mom was predeceased by her husband, Jerome (2006); her siblings, Daisy, Josephine and Frank; and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bruno, Albrice and Edna, George and Mary, Margaret and Trevor and Ben Shantz.

To share memories, Alice leaves her daughter, Sharon Ramstad; son, Skip and his wife, Gloria; grandchildren, Elise, Maurita, Reginald and Dwayne; great grandchildren, Ashley, Darren, Logan, Ryley, Rita and Abatha; and two great great grandchildren, Xander and Alice; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as her sisters-in-law, Rose and Lorna.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Lacombe Long Care Centre for the kind attention and care to Mom and to us, her family. You are truly God's Angels here on earth. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Cyprians Anglican Church in Lacombe. Condolences may be made by visiting www.wilsonsfuneralchapel.ca
