Alice HOGAN

HOGAN (OLSON) Alice Gwendolen Hogan (Olson) passed away on January 19, 2009 at 85 years of age. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Colm, father, John, mother, Anna, brother, Arne and two sisters-in-law, Lilian and Betty. Alice is survived by brothers, Julien and Ralph (Noreen), and sisters, Marie and Edna Crook (Bill), 15 nieces and nephews, 11 great and 2 great great nieces and nephews. Alice grew up on the family farm near Cremona, taught elementary school for many years in Red Deer, retiring while principal of the G. W. Smith Elementary School in 1985. Alice was involved with many boards and organizations in Red Deer during her lifetime all of which were very important to her. As per Alice's request there will be no formal funeral service, but when you look at a special sunrise or visit Alice's Grove in Red Deer, please think of her as these were as essential to her life as were her family and friends. Donations may be made on her behalf to the Olson Memorial Fund in support of programs with children's authors at the Red Deer Public Library through the Red Deer Community Foundation, 4811-48 Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1S6 (www.rddcf.ca).
